The competition takes place regularly once a year. Originally it used to be held in the gymnasium at one of Odry’s primary schools. The year 1995 was a turning point, when the contestants competed on 3 tatamis in the new spacious Municipal sports hall for the first time. Also the change in the competition title to Silesia Cup reflects the growing importance of this tournament. Organisers from the local club set demanding goals for themselves and they seem to manage to achieve them. There is only one thing to be added – if you like a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and want to compete with

high quality competitors or just to watch quality martial arts, come to Odry!

North Moravian League of Talented Karate Competitors is a system of competitions intended for karate beginners. The objective of this project, which originated from the initiative of KARATE TYGR SHOTOKAN and Karate VSK VSB-TUO clubs, is to encourage interest of novices in improvement of their performance, to make karate more attractive for kids and teens and to deepen cooperation between North Moravian karate clubs.

Individual competitions are held several times a year at organisers’ gymnasiums. The competition is usually organised in two disciplines – kata and kihon (performance of techniques). The competitions are open, and anybody, who practices karate and has not reached higher grade than the 6th kyu (green belt) can take part therein. You can find more detailed information to the competitions on the League website.
