This competition is organised by karate clubs
VSK VSB – TU
Ostrava and KARATE TYGR
SHOTOKAN from the city of Ostrava.
Both clubs teach the
SHOTOKAN style and are members of
the Czech Physical Training Union
(CSTV), the Czech
Karate Federation and
the North Moravian
Karate Union. They closely cooperate, especially in
development of talented youth, jointly organise competitions,
training camps, exhibitions and many other events. Members of
both clubs mutually visit each other’s practice sessions.
Similarly, exchanges of coaches have taken place. Establishing a
joint successful kata team, named
IPPON team after its
sponsor, is an outstanding credit to this cooperation.
Cooperation of both clubs has also resulted in introduction
of series of competitions for karate novices called
North Moravian League of
Karate Talents in which already nine North Moravian clubs
take part. The two clubs cooperate also with other clubs.
Recently cooperation with the Polish club
SHINDO Cieszyn and some
Slovakian clubs has promisingly developed.
