Grand Prix Ostrava

OSTRAVA GRAND PRIX is now bigger than ever before. The tournament as the one of the most significant tournaments in Czech republic has been placed among the qualifying tournaments for Czech National Championship Up to 13 years and Senior categories. We expect for this year even more superior participation than in the last year and we believe that Saturday, 25th October 2008 will turn into the real celebration of Karate we will all remember for a long time. ***

Karate clubs VSK VSB – TU Ostrava and KARATE TYGR SHOTOKAN cordially invite you to the 7th year of the international KARATE competition OSTRAVA GRAND PRIX 2008 which is traditionally patronated by Ing. Evzen Tosenovský, the Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region (see report from the 6th year).
The contest will take place in a modern sport hall in Ostrava-Polanka, Heleny Salichove 1275 street.

The competition will be held in KATA and KUMITE disciplines. KATA discipline is extended of KATA teams competition which is very attractive especially for audience.

Inasmuch as that this tournament has been announced by Czech Karate Federation as a qualifying tournament for Czech National Championship Up to 13 years and Senior categories and in addition it has been assigned by the high point coefficient for the National team purposes, we expect for this year even more superior participation than in previous years.

The Application Form must be sent by 20th October 2008 at the latest. After expiration of the registration deadline, the starting keys for all categories will be announced on this web page.

The qualifying categories can be canceled in case there is lower number of participants in qualifying categories (girls/boys, seniors) than 4. Other categories can be joined.

Accommodation for the participants is FREE of charge and will be provided on the premises of the Elementary School of Helena Salichova ( vacated classrooms).

The Competition at KATA discipline begins at 9:30 a.m. with elimination contests.
Opening ceremony with accompanying program will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the presence of guests of honour. Final contests at KATA will follow. KUMITE contest should start from 2:00 p.m..
